Destination Wedding - Do's & Don'ts

Tips to make your Destination Wedding planning run more smoothly

DO  check the laws & Marriage requirements.  Your Adiona Travel  Wedding Specialist will assist with this part of the planning.  Some countries require a certain number of days before a legal wedding and medicals may be a requirement.

DON'T disregard your dream location because of legalities.  You can always get married at home and host a fabulous symbolic wedding at the destination of your choice.

DO pay attention to dress selection.  Consider the hot weather, chances of rain are resort dress codes.  IE Churches or Venues may require shoulders to be covered.

DON'T expect your bridesmaids and groomsmen to spend their entire life savings on their outfits.  They already had to pay for a trip, so be budget friendly.

DO Check with important people before you book the date.  Parents, Grandparents etc.

DON'T assume you will make everyone happy.  People may complain about the destination or venue.  Ultimately, the choice is yours.

DO Invite as many people as you would like and send “save the dates” as early as possible.

DON'T be offended if someone says they can not make it.  It is a big ask.

DO look after your guests.  Plan activities, goodie bags or plan surprise dinners or a group excursion.

DON'T expect your guests to hang out with you all week.  It's their vacation too, so don't over schedule.

DO make a checklist before you pack.  Include all your wedding items plus any regular items.

DON'T leave packing to the last minute.  We recommend a 2 week process to double check everything.
